Understanding Your Support Options and Steps to Take

There are two ways for a Grocery Buddy to lend support— through direct financial support or grocery delivery.

OPTION 1: GROCERY BUDDY SENDS FUNDS DIRECTLY

  • Let us know the type of support you need, any dietary restrictions and other info to help us match you with a Grocery Buddy.

  • We’ll connect you with a Grocery Buddy (or a small group of Buddies) via text or email.

  • Decide together how often you’ll receive support—weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.

  • Your Buddy will send grocery funds directly through your preferred method: Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, cash, check, etc.

  • Your Buddy may check in to confirm when funds are sent or discuss grocery needs. Honest communication keeps the program running smoothly.

OPTION 2:  GROCERY BUDDY PURCHASES AND DELIVERS GROCERIES

  • Let us know the type of support you need, any dietary restrictions and other info to help us match you with a Grocery Buddy.

  • We’ll connect you with a Grocery Buddy (or a small group of Buddies) via text or email.

  • Decide together how often you’ll reogether with your Buddy, choose:

    • How often groceries will be delivered (weekly, bi-weekly, etc.)

    • Whether you’ll provide a grocery list or let your Buddy choose the items

    • A delivery day and time that works for both of you

  •  Your Buddy will either shop in person or order groceries online for delivery to your address.

If a delivery service (e.g., Instacart) is used, fees will not be subtracted from your requested amount—your Buddy will cover the extra cost.

  • Your Buddy may check in to confirm deliveries or discuss grocery needs. Honest communication keeps the program running smoothly.
